The Social Innovation Lab Hackathon, launched by the Hayel Saeed Anam Group in collaboration with ROWAD Foundation, concludes today. The event was organized to explore innovative solutions to the challenges facing Yemen's agricultural sector and to support aspiring entrepreneurs from various governorates in developing creative solutions to these vital sector challenges, including water scarcity, low productivity, and weak supply chains.
The first-of-its-kind lab in Yemen attracted more than 400 teams from 22 governorates. Out of these, 24 teams from six governorates—Sana'a, Hadhramaut, Aden, Taiz, Al Hudaydah, and Dhamar—were selected by a specialized technical committee to compete for six awards, with one award specifically designated for a participating women's team.
