A Demo Day event for the “Wathba” Business Accelerator was held in Aden, implemented by the ROWAD Foundation in partnership with DeepRoot Consulting, and funded by the European Union in Yemen and HSA Group, as part of a strategic effort to enhance the entrepreneurship ecosystem and support the investment readiness of startups in Yemen.
The event brought together nine startups, representing the first cohort of the Wathba Accelerator, who presented to investors the tangible progress they have achieved in their business models, expansion plans, and investment readiness—developed through a comprehensive support journey that included mentorship, coaching, administrative capacity-building, and financial support.
The Demo Day also featured a startup exhibition and active networking spaces connecting entrepreneurs with investors and ecosystem partners. This contributed to opening potential channels for future partnerships and investments, and strengthening confidence in local entrepreneurial talent.
This event represents a pivotal milestone in the journey of the Wathba Business Accelerator Program and a new step toward supporting an entrepreneurship environment capable of creating economic opportunities and driving sustainable growth in Yemen.
