The third edition of the Social Innovation Lab 2026 – Blue Economy Track concluded in Aden after an intensive four-day journey that brought together 26 teams from six governorates across Yemen to develop innovative solutions that support the growth of the blue economy and promote sustainable development.
Throughout the program, participants engaged in intensive workshops, mentoring sessions, and expert guidance designed to help transform their ideas into viable prototypes and scalable projects.
At the conclusion of the hackathon, six winning teams were awarded seed grants and secured a three-month incubation program to further develop their solutions into impactful ventures that contribute to strengthening Yemen's blue economy and maximizing the potential of its marine, fisheries, and coastal tourism resources.
The closing ceremony also recognized two additional teams with special recognition awards in appreciation of their outstanding ideas and promising potential, encouraging more young innovators to continue developing solutions for Yemen's future.
The conclusion of the Lab marks the beginning of a new chapter for the winning teams as they move from ideation to venture building and real-world implementation, reinforcing the role of young innovators as key partners in advancing sustainable economic development and shaping a more prosperous future for Yemen.
